Background

Joseph “Trip” Nistico’s practice focuses on construction defect litigation. Mr. Nistico is admitted to practice in state and federal court in Colorado and in state court in Texas.

Originally from Texas, Mr. Nistico obtained his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in 2012 and graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2016. While in law school, Mr. Nistico was a member of the Colorado Technology Law Journal, the Samuelson-Glushko Technology Law & Policy Clinic, the Hatfield Scholars Program, and the Silicon Flatirons DC Summer Scholars Program. Mr. Nistico also worked as a law clerk for FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining McConaughy & Sarkissian, Mr. Nistico served as a law clerk for the Honorable Laura A. Tighe at Jefferson County District Court for over two years and practiced construction defect litigation as an Associate Attorney for another private firm in the Denver metro area for almost three years.

Since 2021, Best Lawyers of America recognized Mr. Nistico as a “One to Watch,” a prestigious award that is given to up-and-coming young attorneys. Mr. Nistico has also co-authored numerous articles on emerging issues in construction defect, insurance, and commercial litigation for the Colorado Lawyer.

In his free time, Mr. Nistico enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, skiing in Vail, cooking gourmet meals, and going to the gym.
