Blake Barnett
Associate
Blake Barnett is a Denver family law attorney at McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C. whose practice centers on high-conflict divorce and complex child custody matters. Named a 2023 Up & Coming Lawyer by Law Week Colorado and a Top 10 Attorney Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, Blake has built a reputation as a skilled and tenacious advocate for clients navigating some of the most difficult legal circumstances of their lives.
Blake earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Sciences with a minor in Psychology from Florida State University before going on to the University of Miami School of Law, graduating with their Juris Doctor in 2019. During law school, Blake gained direct experience working for both a private family law firm and the university’s Health Rights Clinic, which sharpened their ability to construct precise legal arguments and approach cases from multiple perspectives.
Blake’s practice encompasses child support, maintenance, child custody and parenting time, interstate and international relocations, and the allocation of marital estates. Beyond working at the firm, Blake takes on pro bono cases through Metro Volunteer Lawyers. Blake has also been published in Attorney at Law Magazine on the topic of same-sex divorce in Colorado. Blake offers a distinctive perspective for the LGBTQ+ community, as they understand the intricacies and needs of these unique families as a member of the community themselves.
Outside of work, Blake enjoys hiking Colorado’s 14ers, camping, and climbing, often accompanied by their Golden Retriever, Gracie James, and her wife.
