Background

Carin Ramirez, Special Counsel at McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C, is admitted to practice law in all state courts in Colorado and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.   Ms. Ramirez represents corporate and individual clients in various types of litigation. Throughout her career, Ms. Ramirez’s practice has focused on civil defense litigation with an emphasis on construction disputes, including construction defect claims on behalf of developers, general contractors, and other construction professionals, in which she draws upon her engineering background and expertise to help her clients resolve matters efficiently. Ms. Ramirez also practices in the areas of personal injury defense, premises liability, environmental torts, wrongful death, negligent design, property damage, subrogation claims, contract disputes, bad faith, and commercial litigation. Her practice includes providing clients with risk management and mitigation counseling at all stages of litigation and pre-litigation. Ms. Ramirez has significant experience in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions hearings, and trial.

Ms. Ramirez holds an engineering degree from Michigan Technological University and a music performance degree from Michigan State University.  She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado, where she served as an editor of the University of Colorado Law Review and represented clients through the University of Colorado Legal Aid Clinic.
