Courtney McGregor
Associate
Courtney McGregor is a family law attorney at McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C. in Denver, Colorado, where she focuses her practice on domestic relations matters including divorce, child custody, and related proceedings. She brings a rare combination of public policy experience, government service, and legal training to her work, distinguishing her from other family law practitioners in the area.
Originally from Delaware, Courtney earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a journalism emphasis from the University of Delaware before entering public service. She served as Press Secretary to then-Governor Jack Markell and later joined the office of Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester as Communications Director and State Director. In that role, Courtney managed the Congresswoman’s policy portfolio on Environmental Justice, Energy, and Criminal Justice, areas that fell under the jurisdiction of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which holds broad authority over health care, the environment, energy policy, and consumer protection.
While working on Capitol Hill, Courtney pursued her legal education at night, earning her Juris Doctor from Delaware Law School. Following graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Jennifer Ranji in Delaware Family Court before joining the Delaware Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General, where she focused on juvenile delinquency and dependency and neglect cases.
Having grown up ski racing in Colorado, Courtney eventually made the move west. She now practices family and domestic relations law in Denver, drawing on her background in public policy, criminal justice, and child welfare to advocate for clients navigating some of the most personal legal challenges of their lives.
Outside the office, Courtney can be found on the ski slopes, running trails, and hiking Colorado’s mountains with her wife and sons.
