Gabe Gonzalez

Associate

Background:

Gabe Gonzalez is an Associate Attorney at McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C. in Denver, Colorado, where he focuses his practice on construction litigation and civil litigation. He represents owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in disputes involving construction defects, breach of contract, payment claims, mechanics liens, and complex commercial matters, guiding clients through all stages of litigation with an emphasis on practical, efficient resolution. Mr. Gonzalez is licensed to practice law in both state and federal courts in Colorado.

Mr. Gonzalez’s professional background is not in another law office, but in the field — literally. Before attending law school, he spent years working as a wildlife biologist, holding roles with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and the USDA. His work spanned wildlife conservation, conflict mitigation, and scientific field research across varied and demanding environments.

During law school, Mr. Gonzalez served in the University of Denver’s Environmental Law Clinic, where his work focused on wildlife protection through the application of the Endangered Species Act and related conservation law. He also completed an externship with Friends of Animals and served as a policy intern with the State of Colorado, researching legal issues related to pending legislation and preparing briefing materials for state officials.

Mr. Gonzalez earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, one of the country’s leading programs for environmental and natural resources law, where the clinical program ranks among the top ten nationally. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Humboldt State University. During his time with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, he was featured on the Animal Planet television series Nevada Wild, which documented the agency’s wildlife management and conservation work in the field.
