Before attending law school, he spent years working as a wildlife biologist, holding roles with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and the USDA. His work spanned wildlife conservation, conflict mitigation, and scientific field research across varied and demanding environments.

During law school, Mr. Gonzalez served in the University of Denver’s Environmental Law Clinic, where his work focused on wildlife protection through the application of the Endangered Species Act and related conservation law. He also completed an externship with Friends of Animals and served as a policy intern with the State of Colorado, researching legal issues related to pending legislation and preparing briefing materials for state officials.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Humboldt State University.
