N. Rioux Jordan
Shareholder
Rioux Jordan is a shareholder at McConaughy & Sarkissian, P.C. in Denver, Colorado, where he focuses his practice on construction litigation and construction defect defense. A Colorado native, Mr. Jordan has been with the firm since 2018 and represents owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors across the full range of construction disputes — from residential developments and high-rise luxury condominiums to industrial buildings, warehouse facilities, and civil infrastructure projects including stormwater facilities and water and sewer systems.
Mr. Jordan’s litigation practice encompasses construction defect claims, breach of contract disputes, scheduling and delay claims, payment disputes, mechanics lien enforcement and defense, general liability claims, and personal injury claims arising from construction activities. Beyond litigation, Mr. Jordan regularly counsels clients on contract drafting, negotiation, and risk management, helping developers and contractors structure their agreements to minimize exposure before disputes arise.
He was named a Rising Star in every edition of Super Lawyers since 2023, a distinction awarded to fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in Colorado and has also been recognized consecutively beginning in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. These peer-nominated honors reflect both the quality of his legal work and the respect he has earned within Colorado’s construction law community at an early stage of his career.
Mr. Jordan holds a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from the University of Denver — a specialized credential that distinguishes his practice in construction matters involving environmental contamination, groundwater, and stormwater management. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he interned with Colorado District Court Judge David Prince, honed his litigation skills through one of the university’s nationally top-10 ranked clinical law programs, and served as both staff editor and legislative reports editor for the Water Law Review reflecting his long-standing focus on water and environmental issues as they intersect with construction and land development. Prior to law school, Mr. Jordan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from Colorado State University, where he graduated as a university honors scholar with a minor in English.
Mr. Jordan is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Wyoming and is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in each jurisdiction.
Outside the office, Mr. Jordan enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the state’s outdoors, and pursuing creative endeavors including writing and woodworking.
