Sarah Colburn

Associate

Background:

Sarah was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 2017 after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Sarah began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in the Denver Metro area, where she spent six years prosecuting cases ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious felonies. During her time at the DA’s office, Sarah developed a strong passion for advocating for victims of domestic violence and gained invaluable experience in handling offenders and understanding the far-reaching consequences of their actions.

Two years ago, Sarah transitioned to practicing exclusively in family law, while continuing her dedication to being a voice for those who may not be heard. She understands the real-life impact of family law cases and is skilled in navigating the complexities of the legal system and process. With experience in negotiating resolutions to a wide range of issues and levels of contention, Sarah knows that while settlement is often the best option, her extensive courtroom experience makes her a strong advocate when litigation becomes necessary.

Outside of her legal career, Sarah enjoys her free time in a wide variety of ways. She loves motocross, street biking, powerlifting, and whitewater rafting. When she’s not seeking her next adrenaline rush, Sarah enjoys spending time with her cats and traveling with her partner.
